YEREVAN, March 18. /ARKA/. In 2025, 504.5 km of roads were built and repaired in Armenia using budget funds, including 135 km of interstate roads, approximately 200 km of national roads, and approximately 170 km of regional roads. Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure David Khudatyan announced this at a meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee on Economic Affairs.

"The section of the North-South highway corridor leading from Ashtarak to Gyumri is fully completed. This section is of vital importance to Armenia. The Kajaran-Agarak section of the North-South highway corridor (32 km) is actively under construction, and the tunnels are ready. Fifteen bridges are planned, and construction is underway on 14," Khudatyan said.

According to him, this is one of the largest construction projects currently underway, with approximately 60 million drams being spent daily and approximately 700 people employed.

"265 km of roads were built and repaired under subsidy programs," Khudatyan said.

About the North-South Corridor

The North-South Transport Corridor, crossing Armenia along the Meghri-Kapan-Goris-Yerevan-Ashtarak-Gyumri-Bavra route, connects to the Georgian road in the south, leading to the ports of Poti and Batumi (on the Black Sea) and further to Russia, the CIS countries, and the European Union. The implementation of this comprehensive project will improve travel links between Europe, the Caucasus, and Asia, connecting Western Asia and Eastern Europe.
