The number of officially employed people in Armenia grew to 783,900 at the end of December 2024, increasing by 5.2% compared to December 2023, according to a report of the Ministry of Economy titled “Socio-Economic Situation of the Republic of Armenia/ January-December 2024” (Armenia: Economic Outlook/ January-December 2024).

YEREVAN, March 7. /ARKA/. The number of officially employed people in Armenia grew to 783,900 at the end of December 2024, increasing by 5.2% compared to December 2023, according to a report of the Ministry of Economy titled “Socio-Economic Situation of the Republic of Armenia/ January-December 2024” (Armenia: Economic Outlook/ January-December 2024).

According to it, the leading branches of employment at the end of December 2024 were as follows:

Wholesale and retail trade: 134,800 employees

Education: 128,0000 employees

Manufacturing: 90,900 employees

Health care and social services։ 53,400 employees

Information and communication: 45.600 employees

Construction։ 42,000employees։

Compared to December 2023, there was an increase in employment in almost all sectors, except for the public administration and defense sectors, which decreased by 0.02%. -0-
