YEREVAN, March 5. /ARKA/. Starting April 1, pensions for 623,353 people will increase by 10,000 drams or more. The pensions of 39,594 people will increase by approximately 8,500 drams, according to Armenian Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Arsen Torosyan.

"The 8,500 drams primarily applies to citizens receiving military pensions, which average 95,000 drams," Torosyan said.

He also announced plans to increase benefits for citizens with disabilities by 10,000 drams.

"Disability benefits for citizens in groups 1, 2, and 3, as well as for individuals with profound, severe, and moderate functional limitations, currently amount to 39,000, 37,500, and 36,000 drams and will increase to 49,000, 47,500, and 46,000 drams, respectively," the minister said.

The minister noted that in addition to this increase, a 20% cashback system (maximum payment of 10,000 drams) will be in effect starting January 1, 2026.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, in turn, stated that pensions should no longer be lower than the minimum consumer basket.
