Service sector in Armenia ups 10.6% in January –July to 2.2 trillion drams
YEREVAN, September 9. /ARKA/. Armenia’s service sector in January-July 2025 grew to 2,176,542.4 million drams (in current prices), reflecting an increase of 10.6% in comparison to the same period in 2024, according to the numbers, released by the National Statistical Committee.
Additionally, in July 2025, the sector grew by 336,024.9 million drams, marking an increase of 11.1% compared to July of the previous year, and a rise of 1.8% compared to June of this year.
The largest proportion (30.9%) was contributed by the financial and insurance services amounting to 671,936.5 million drams, which is an increase of 16.2% compared to the same seven months of the previous year.
The information and communication sector accounted for 20.9% of the total (454,518.0 million drams, an increase of 19.1%), while the transport sector held an 11.2% share (244,158.0 million drams, a decrease of 2.8%).
The accommodation and catering sector represented 9.3% (203,429.7 million drams, an increase of 4.3%). The culture, entertainment, and recreation sector comprised 8% (173,039.2 million drams, growth of 2.4%), professional, scientific, and technical activities accounted for 4.8% (103,894.9 million drams, growth of 7.7%), and healthcare and social security for the population stood at 4.6% (100,666.3 million drams, growth of 8.2%).
The real estate sector constituted 3.8% (83,452.8 million drams, growth of 12.1%), administrative and auxiliary activities made up 3.3% (71,973.0 million drams, growth of 9.2%), and education represented 2.4% (51,342.8 million drams, growth of 4.1%). ($1 - 382.95 drams).-0-
