YEREVAN, December 23. /ARKA/. Russian President Vladimir Putin shared his expectations regarding Armenian-Russian trade turnover in a conversation with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
"Our trade turnover has stabilized; we discussed this yesterday. While it exceeded $11 billion in 2024, it reached $4.5 billion in the first nine months of this year. This is also a good indicator and gives us reason to believe that we will increase it in the near future," Putin said.
He noted the existence of promising programs, including in nuclear energy. "We won't go into details now, but there is scope for discussion and further work. Also, in logistics," Putin stated.
Speaking about the topics under discussion for joint work, Putin mentioned, among others, the restoration of old routes and the creation of new ones that would open Armenia's borders. "Overall, everything is going well. Of course, there are other issues that we will now discuss," he said.
According to Armstat, Armenia's trade turnover with Russia in the first 10 months of 2025 amounted to $5.72 billion, a decrease of 47.8% compared to the same period in 2024. Meanwhile, exports from Armenia decreased by 9.2% to $2.38 billion, while imports from Russia, as an exporting country, amounted to $3.48 billion, a decrease of 58.3%.
