Armenian Prime Minister reveals the country's export promotion mechanisms

YEREVAN, January 8. /ARКА/. Armenia has adopted one of the most effective tools for promoting exports—supporting businesses in enhancing their productivity and product quality, stated Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

According to him, establishing a favorable political and institutional framework for the growth of export-oriented businesses is also a crucial aspect of state policy.

Pashinyan noted that the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) provides additional avenues for Armenian companies to access international markets. In this regard, measures are being implemented to streamline customs processes and establish support mechanisms, including partial reimbursement of customs costs.

The Prime Minister highlighted that the opening and development of transport routes present new opportunities for both exports and imports.

Simultaneously, he stressed that advancing education is a vital strategic element.

"A new market is like an open book that one must learn to read. To achieve this, one must understand its language, structures, and terminology," Pashinyan remarked.

He further mentioned that, in this context, systemic support is necessary to improve the technical, organizational, and managerial skills of businesses.

Current statistics indicate that Armenia's foreign trade turnover from January to November 2025 reached $18.9 billion, reflecting a 33.2% drop compared to the same period in 2024. Exports fell by 40.6%, totaling nearly $7.35 billion, while imports were close to $11.56 billion, marking a 27% decrease.-0-
