YEREVAN, January 30. /ARKA/. As of the evening of January 29, 2026, 50,073 pensioners aged 65+ have used the health insurance system in Armenia and received medical services worth 4.92 billion drams, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced.

He also provided detailed data on how many pensioners aged 65+ have used medical services free of charge (through payments from the state budget) through the health insurance system. 57 pensioners received medical services worth 4 million drams or more,

158 pensioners received medical services worth 2-4 million drams,

802 pensioners received medical services worth 1-2 million drams,

1,208 pensioners received medical services between 500,000 and 1 million drams,

6,558 pensioners received medical services worth 100,000-500,000 drams,

2,481 pensioners received medical services worth 50,000-100,000 drams,

38,809 pensioners received medical services up to 50,000 drams.

Pashinyan explained that the beneficiaries who received services worth up to 50,000 drams primarily purchased medications. "Previously, we also used state budget funds to purchase medications and provide them to certain social groups, while many pensioners used their own funds to purchase various prescribed medications. Now, under this program, we provide certain compensation—we don't provide medications, but rather give people money to buy them," he said.

In this regard, Pashinyan emphasized the importance of the health insurance system, including for improving the social status, health, and quality of life of elderly pensioners.
