Papoyan: American companies will arrive in Armenia as part of the Trump Route project
YEREVAN, August 13. /ARKA/. Representatives from several US-based companies are expected to arrive in Armenia in the near future, Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan said.
"There are technical details in connection with the launch of the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity project, and Armenia expects American investments in this project," Papoyan said the day before on Public Television of Armenia.
The minister said that American companies will visit Armenia soon to familiarize themselves with the area.
The terms of the he initialed peace agreement, signed by Armenia and Azerbaijan on August 8 in Washington, and brokered by US President Donald Trump, include exclusive US development rights to a route through southern Armenia that would link Azerbaijan to Nakhchivan, an Azerbaijani enclave that borders Baku’s ally Turkey.
The corridor, which would pass close to the border with Iran, would be named the Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity, or TRIPP, and operate under Armenian law.-0-
