In Armenia, new batches of eggs with labeling and quality violations were detected during the second stage of market monitoring ahead of Easter.
YEREVAN, April 3. /ARKA/. In Armenia, new batches of eggs with labeling and quality violations were detected during the second stage of market monitoring ahead of Easter.
The RA Food Safety Inspectorate reports that during test purchases in retail chains, samples of the following manufacturers were sent for laboratory testing for freshness and compliance with quality requirements: Ashtarak (production date 24.03), Araks (20․03, 23․03, 26․03, 27․03, 28․03, 30․03), Arzni (24․03), Gntunik (29․03), Elite (25․03), Erebuni (26․03, 27․03), Koko (20․03), Hum dzu (29․03), Shirak (21․03, 23․03, March 24, March 26, March 31, Voskehat (March 21), and Vardbakh (March 29).
All tested samples met the freshness standard for Class I (table) eggs according to HST 182-2012.
However, quality (class) discrepancies were identified in batches of fresh table eggs. Specifically, Araks (March 27, March 28), Gntunik (March 29), Koko (March 20), and Shirak (March 26) eggs had labeling violations.
For the batches with identified violations, orders were issued to suspend product sales and bring labeling into compliance with legal requirements.
On March 31, the regulator conducted the first stage of inspections at the production site. and egg sales. Non-compliance with HST 182-2012 was detected in products from Arzni, EPF, Elite, and other manufacturers. Orders prohibiting sale, recalling, and disposing of the products were issued for the identified batches.
