YEREVAN, September 15. /ARKA/. Armenia's natural gas operator Gazprom-Armenia has announced a temporary cessation of natural gas supplies to Armenia as a result of scheduled maintenance on the gas pipeline located in the Stavropol Territory of the Russian Federation.

The repairs are set to take place from 09:00 on September 16 until 09:00 on September 26 on the North Caucasus - Transcaucasia main gas pipeline (DN 1400) in the Stavropol Territory.

"Throughout this period, a continuous and dependable gas supply to consumers within the country will be maintained without any limitations, thanks to internal reserves and additional quantities of natural gas sourced from the Islamic Republic of Iran," stated Gazprom-Armenia.

Gazprom-Armenia CJSC operates as a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Russian conglomerate Gazprom, which holds a monopoly on the supply of natural gas from Russia to Armenia for domestic use. The gas is supplied in transit through Georgia, with the cost of Russian gas at the border set at $165 per 1,000 cubic meters.

In Armenia, the company is also involved in the transportation, storage, distribution, and sale of gas, as well as the reconstruction and expansion of the gas transportation system and underground gas storage facilities.-0-
