YEREVAN, February 12. /ARKA/. In 2025, 76,537 Armenian citizens received social loans totaling 6.2 billion drams, announced Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

According to him, the funds were returned to citizens based on their income declarations for 2024. "The average social loan repayment per applicant was 81,000 drams," Pashinyan said at a government meeting on Thursday.

The Prime Minister noted that the program is important for regulating and improving the targeting of social policy.

About Social Credits in Armenia

The social credit system provides compensation for citizens' expenses in two areas: education (up to 100,000 drams per year for each working family member) and healthcare (up to 50,000 drams), through a refund of a portion of previously paid income tax.

Expenses for extracurricular sports, music, and dance centers, supplementary education institutions, school textbook rentals, and dental services are also eligible for a refund. Cashless payment is mandatory.

To participate in the system, citizens must submit an income tax return. The gradual implementation of the tax return system will begin on January 1, 2023, over a three-year period. ($1 = 377.51 drams)
