YEREVAN, March 31. /ARKA/. Inspections of the quality of chicken eggs were conducted in Armenia ahead of Easter, violations were identified, and sales of some batches have been banned, according to the RA Food Safety Inspectorate.

"In the lead-up to Easter, control measures were carried out on the production and sale of eggs to ensure consumer safety," the regulator said in a statement.

As part of the inspection, samples were collected and test purchases were made at the following enterprises: Vlad Hakobyan Feed Mill, Araks Poultry Farm, Ashtarak-Dzu, Gntunik, Variant Group, Gndevaz Pharm, Khaga, Ararat, Arzni Poultry Farm, Lusakert Elite, Artur Harutyunyan, Aramus, as well as at major retail outlets in Yerevan and the regions.

According to the regulator, a violation was identified during the production inspection only at the Arzni Poultry Farm: a sample of first-grade chicken eggs from March 23, 2026, did not comply with the HST 182-20a12 standard.

During the inspection of trade organizations, a test purchase of products from the following manufacturers was conducted: Ashtarak, Araks, Arzni, Arzni Iodized, Gntunik, ETF, Elite, Erebuni, Taarm, Koko, Natur Food, Shirak, OTF, Voskakhat, Stepanyan Pharm, and NOVOROSSP/F.

According to laboratory tests, batches of Arzni products from March 24 and 10, ETF products from March 13 and 21, and Elite products from March 18 did not comply with the HST 182-2012 standard.

Furthermore, non-compliance with the declared grade was found in batches of Araks, Arzni, Gntunik, ETF, Elite, Erebuni, Taarm, Koko, Shirak, and OTF.

For batches found to be in violation, orders have been issued to ban sales, recall products from the market, destroy them, or dispose of them.

Inspection activities are ongoing, and additional results will be published later, the Inspectorate reported.
