In Armenia, electricity generation rose by 8.2% to reach 7.3 billion kWh during first nine months
YEREVAN, November 7. /ARKA/. From January to September 2025, Armenia produced 7,355.6 million kWh of electricity, marking an 8.2% increase compared to the same period in 2024, as reported by the Statistical Committee.
Thermal power plants (TPPs) contributed the largest portion of electricity generated, accounting for 30.2% with 2,225.6 million kWh produced, reflecting a 15.3% decline.
The Armenian Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) represented 27.3% of the total (2,007.3 million kWh, a 6% increase), while hydroelectric power plants (HPPs) made up 25% (1,836.3 million kWh, a 20.9% increase).
Solar power plants, holding a 17.5% share, generated 1,285.8 million kWh of electricity in the first three quarters, which is a significant rise of 69.4%.
In contrast, wind power plants, with a mere 0.02% share, produced only 0.6 million kWh, a decrease of 35.4%.
Starting in 2023, the volumes of electricity production also encompass the output from autonomous power producers.-0-
