YEREVAN, April 3. /ARKA/. In Armenia, inflation was 4.5% in March 2026 compared to March 2025, with a monthly increase of 0.7%. This is according to a report from the Statistical Committee of Armenia.
In March 2026, compared to March 2025, prices for food products and non-alcoholic beverages increased by 7.8%, with a monthly increase of 1.8%. Alcohol and tobacco prices in March increased by 8.6% year-over-year, and by 0.5% compared to February of this year. In March 2026, clothing and footwear prices increased by 1% year-on-year, with a 0.2% month-on-month decline. Utilities decreased by 0.3% year-on-year and 0.7% month-on-month. Prices for household goods, appliances, and daily apartment maintenance increased by 0.6% in March and 0.7% month-on-month.
Healthcare prices increased by 4.5% year-on-year and 0.5% month-on-month in March. Transportation prices increased by 2.1% year-on-year, with a 0.4% decline compared to February. Growth in the communications sector amounted to 0.7% (a 0.3% increase over the month), while a 0.7% decline was recorded in the recreation and culture sector (a 0.6% increase over the month).
In the education sector, prices increased by 8.3% over the year, with zero dynamics over the month, in the restaurant and hotel sectors - by 4.3% and 0.3%, respectively, and for various goods and services, growth over the year amounted to 2.4%, with a 0.1% decrease over the month.
According to statistics, prices in the non-food market increased by 0.8% in March 2026 compared to March 2025, and by 0.1% compared to February of this year.
Armenia's economic growth is projected at 5.4% in the 2026 state budget. According to the Central Bank's monetary policy report for the first quarter of this year, Armenia's GDP growth is expected by the end of 2026 depending on the scenario (A-B) 7.1-4.7%, in 2027 – 5.7-5.3%, in 2028 – 4.9-5.2%.
