Total freight traffic in Armenia in January-October 2025 amounted to 13,960.5 thousand tons, an increase of 2% compared to January-October 2024.
YEREVAN, December 11. /ARKA/. Total freight traffic in Armenia in January-October 2025 amounted to 13,960.5 thousand tons, an increase of 2% compared to January-October 2024. Total passenger traffic amounted to 195,565.6 thousand people, a decrease of 2.1%. This was reported by the Statistical Committee of the Republic.
Freight Transportation
Over the first 10 months of this year, 11,051.8 thousand tons of total freight transportation were carried by road (a 0.7% decline compared to the same period last year), 1,466.7 thousand tons by main pipeline transport (a 1.6% decline), 1,408.3 thousand tons by rail (an 18.8% increase), and 33.7 thousand tons by air transport (an increase of 3.7%).
Freight turnover during the reporting period amounted to 3,623.0 million ton-km, a decrease of 2.5% compared to the same period last year. At the same time, freight turnover via main pipeline transport amounted to 2,317.6 million ton-km (a decline of 1.7%), road transport - 918.6 million ton-km (a decline of 11.4%), rail transport - 369.7 million ton-km (an increase of 19.1%), and air transport - 17.1 million ton-km (an increase of 69.3%).
Passenger Transportation
From January to October 2025, 165,942.4 thousand passengers traveled by road (down 0.1%), 24,304.5 thousand by electric transport (down 16.2%), 4,882.7 thousand by air transport (up 5.7%), and 436.0 thousand by rail transport (down 9.8%).
Passenger turnover for the 2025 reporting period amounted to 3,862.6 million passenger-km, an increase of 0.2% compared to the same period in 2024. Passenger turnover by road transport amounted to 2,280.4 million passenger-km (a 6.9% increase), air transport – 1,434.0 million passenger-km (a 7.3% decrease), electric transport – 95.1 million passenger-km (a 17.9% decrease), and rail transport – 53.1 million passenger-km (a 6.5% decrease).
Road Accidents
In the first 10 months of this year, 4,002 road accidents occurred in Armenia, which is 14.5% more than the same period last year.
231 people died in road accidents (a 13.8% decrease), and 5,899 people were injured (an 18.1% increase). Postal and Courier Services
For January-October 2025, revenue from postal and courier services in Armenia amounted to 17,361.3 million drams, an increase of 5.4% compared to January-August 2024 ($1 = 381.82 drams).
