YEREVAN, November 28. / ARKA /. The former chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Armenia (AmCham) Tigran Jrbashyan predicted today a zero growth or even a drop for the outgoing year.
"If we have a 0.5%-1% GDP growth, we can say we had a successful year, but I think the figures will be worse," - he said at a news conference, recalling that the economic activity index for January-October fell to 0.4%. Jrbashyan predicted also a difficult beginning for the next year.
"No matter what kind of an atmosphere of trust the government will be able to form, the best option is to expect intensification of business activity in the second half," - he stressed. The government’s projection of GDP growth for 2016 is 2.2%. -0-
