Food prices in Armenia increased by 6.5% year-on-year and 1% month-on-month in February

Food and non-alcoholic beverage prices in February 2026 increased by 6.5% compared to February 2025, and by 1.0% compared to January 2026, according to a report by the Statistical Committee.
YEREVAN, March 4. /ARKA/. Food and non-alcoholic beverage prices in February 2026 increased by 6.5% compared to February 2025, and by 1.0% compared to January 2026, according to a report by the Statistical Committee.
Bread and cereal prices in February increased by 3.5% year-on-year and 0.1% month-on-month. At the same time, rice prices fell by 3.3% (down 0.7% month-on-month), bread prices rose by 3.0% (down 0% month-on-month), flour by 6.2% (up 1.0% month-on-month), buckwheat by 10.1% (up 0.4% month-on-month), wheat groats by 6.4% (up 0.5% month-on-month), peas by 2.5% (down 0.6%), and pasta by 8.6% (up 0.8% month-on-month).
Meat prices increased by 8.2% year-on-year in February, while prices decreased by 0.3% month-on-month. Specifically, beef prices increased by 12.5% (down 0.3% month-on-month), mutton/lamb by 13.3% (down 0.2%), pork by 11.7% (down 1.5%), and poultry (chicken) by 4.6% (up 0.1%).
Fish and seafood prices increased by 9.6% year-on-year in February, while declining by 1.1% month-on-month. Fresh trout prices increased by 7.5% year-on-year and fell by 1.3% month-on-month.
In the "Dairy Products, Cheese, and Eggs" category, prices increased by 10.1% year-on-year and 1.1% month-on-month in February. Cheese prices increased by 7.5% (up 0.9% month-on-month), and eggs by 19.2% (up 3.0% month-on-month).
Prices for products in the "Oils and Fats" category increased by 6.2% year-on-year and 0.4% month-on-month. Butter prices increased by 7.3% (up 0.9% month-on-month), and sunflower oil by 6.7% (down 0.4% month-on-month).
Fruit prices increased by 6.5% year-on-year and 2.6% month-on-month in February. Vegetable prices decreased by 0.8% year-on-year but increased by 4.2% month-on-month.
In the "Sugar, Fruit Purée, Honey, Syrups, Chocolate, and Sugar Confectionery" category, prices increased by 7.7% year-on-year and 0.7% month-on-month in February. Meanwhile, sugar and granulated sugar increased in price by 4.0% (up 0.7% month-on-month), and chocolate by 10.6% (up 0.9% month-on-month).
In the "Coffee, Tea, and Cocoa" category, prices increased by 8.5% year-on-year and 0.2% month-on-month. Coffee increased by 8.7% (up 0.3% month-on-month), and cocoa by 36.4% (up 0.9% month-on-month).
Mineral or spring water, as well as bottled drinking water, increased in price in February by 5.1% year-on-year and 0.4% month-on-month. In addition, vodka prices increased by 8.1% (up 1.1% month-on-month), wine by 2.1% (up 0.5%), beer by 3.6% (up 1.1%), and tobacco by 13.0% (up 2.1% month-on-month).
Food products not included in other groups increased in price by 2.7% in February 2026 compared to February 2025, and by 0.1% compared to January of this year.
At the same time, according to statistics, prices on the non-food market increased by 0.9% in February 2026 compared to February 2025, and decreased by 0.2% compared to January of this year. In Armenia, inflation in February 2026 compared to February 2025 was 4.3%, and in comparison to January 2026 – 0.5%.
