Eurasian Development Bank revises its 2025 economic growth forecast for Armenia upward
ALMATY, December 18. /ARKA/. The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) expects Armenia's economy to grow by approximately 6% by the end of 2025, said Alexey Kuznetsov, Head of the EDB's Research Directorate.

Previously, the EDB forecast Armenia's GDP growth at 5.5% in 2025.

Noting that Armenia's economy maintains a high growth rate, Kuznetsov said that 6% for 2025 is above the average growth rate over the past 10 years.

"The main growth drivers are high rates of construction, development of the IT and communications sectors, and the financial sector. Strong demand is also supported by expanding investment, which increased by almost 20% from January to September. Increased lending and remittances create the foundation for growth in household consumption," he said.

According to Kuznetsov, a further 5.3% economic expansion is expected in 2026.

"Consumption and investment will provide the main contribution. For example, increased investment in transportation and IT infrastructure is expected.

An additional factor will be an improved external environment, including accelerated growth in Russia. This will support sectors focused on external growth, including tourism," Kuznetsov said.
