YEREVAN, February 19. /ARKA/. The production of two types of pastry at a Carrefour supermarket in Yerevan has been suspended due to the discovery of E. coli bacteria, the Food Safety Inspectorate of the Republic of Armenia reports.
"During an inspection at the bakery and pastry production facility of CRF Retail (Carrefour brand) on Arshakunyats Avenue, inspectors collected samples of the products 'Croissant with Cream,' 'Donut (Donut) with Nutella,' and 'Cake with Nutella' and sent them for laboratory testing," the regulator said in a statement.
It was established that the croissant contained abnormal levels of mesophilic aerobic and facultative anaerobic microorganisms (MAFAM), coliform bacteria, and S. aureus. E. coli was also detected in the donut. The inspection agency explained that the bacterial counts did not meet the requirements of the technical regulations of the Customs Union.
The regulator suspended the production of "cream croissants" and "Nutella donuts." The business entity was instructed to take the necessary measures to bring these products into compliance with legal requirements within the established timeframe.
