Electricity generation in Armenia increased by 7.5% in two months to 1.9 billion kWh
YEREVAN, April 7. /ARKA/. In January-February 2026, Armenia generated 1,921.0 million kWh of electricity, a 7.5% increase compared to January-February 2025, according to data published by the Statistical Committee.
TPPs accounted for the largest share of electricity generated—48.6%—with output reaching 933.6 million kWh, an increase of 43.9%. The Armenian Nuclear Power Plant (ANPP) accounted for 32.2% of the electricity output (617.7 million kWh, a 3.5% decline), while solar power plants accounted for 9.7% (187.1 million kWh, a 10.4% increase).
Hydroelectric power plants followed with a 9.5% share and a 44.4% decline, generating 182.3 million kWh. Wind power plants generated 0.3 million kWh of electricity, a 3.1-fold increase; their share amounted to 0.02%.
Electricity production figures also include electricity generated by autonomous power producers through power flows.-0-
