In January 2026, Armenia generated 1,085.7 million kWh of electricity, an 18.1% increase compared to January 2025, according to data published by the Statistical Committee.
YEREVAN, March 10. /ARKA/. In January 2026, Armenia generated 1,085.7 million kWh of electricity, an 18.1% increase compared to January 2025, according to data published by the Statistical Committee.
Thermal power plants accounted for the largest share of electricity generated—53.2%: 577.1 million kWh, an increase of 77.2%. The Armenian Nuclear Power Plant accounted for 30.4%: 330.0 million kWh, a decrease of 2%. Solar power plants followed with an 8.5% share and a capacity of 92.1 million kWh (up 16%), while hydroelectric power plants accounted for 7.9% and generated 86.3 million kWh (down 51.3%).
Wind power plants generated 0.2 million kWh of electricity, a 3.7-fold increase (0.02% share).
Electricity production volumes also include electricity generated by autonomous power producers through power flows.
