The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) forecasts the refinancing rate in Armenia at 6.5% in 2026.
YEREVAN, December 22. /ARKA/. The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) forecasts the refinancing rate in Armenia at 6.5% in 2026.
"The Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia lowered the refinancing rate by 0.25 percentage points to 6.5% at its meeting on December 17. Inflation slowed to 3.1% y/y in November (from 3.7% the previous month)," the EDB said in its weekly macroeconomic review.
The Board of the Central Bank of Armenia has been continuously lowering the refinancing rate since June 2023, gradually bringing it from 10.75% to 6.75% in February 2025. On December 16, the regulator lowered the rate by 0.25% to 6.5%.
According to the EDB's forecast for 2027–2028, the rate will stabilize around 6%, which will maintain inflation within the Central Bank of Armenia's target range and ensure GDP growth at a long-term sustainable level of approximately 5–5.5% per year.
