EDB: Armenia's foreign trade deficit increased to $4.6 billion in 2025
YEREVAN, March 18. /ARКА/. Armenia's foreign trade deficit in 2025 widened to $4.6 billion from $3.9 billion the previous year, according to the Eurasian Development Bank's March report.
According to the EDB, Armenia's exports in 2025 will decline by 36.1%, while imports will decline by 23.6%, following strong production and exports of precious metals and gold products in 2024. However, excluding this factor, the dynamics remained positive: exports grew by 7.7%, while imports grew by 10.9%. In January 2026, the decline in value volumes slowed: exports fell by 13.5%, while imports fell by 11.2%. Excluding the precious metals trade factor, exports decreased by 1.5%, while imports grew by 1.1%. According to the review, in January 2026, exports amounted to $463.9 million, imports - $811.8 million, and the negative balance of foreign trade was $347.9 million.
