YEREVAN, March 16. /ARKA/. Armenia is improving its competition policy in cooperation with international partners, stated Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan.
"We are currently working with international partners to develop and improve competition policy," Papoyan said, speaking at a seminar of the International Competition Network (ICN) in Yerevan on Monday.
According to him, this work is reflected in international indices and indicators. "In particular, in the 2026 Index of Economic Freedom, Armenia ranks 52nd out of 176 countries, and in the World Bank's Business Ready report, the country scored 66.7 points, exceeding the global average of 101 countries by 6.6 points," the minister noted.
Papoyan emphasized that work in this area must be continued and further developed. According to him, competition policy will be improved taking into account the principles of fairness, competition, and transparency.
The minister also stated that competition can help resolve many issues, whereas without it, administrative measures are unable to address a significant portion of the problems.
