The economic growth in Armenia is anticipated to exceed the previously estimated 5.1%, as stated by Armenian Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan.
YEREVAN, September 24. /ARKA/. Economic growth in Armenia will be higher than the projected 5.1%, announced Armenian Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan.
"Economic growth of 5.1% was projected for 2025. International organizations have already refined their forecasts and revised economic growth from 5% to 5.5%, rather than the previous 4.5%. How much higher remains to be seen," Hovhannisyan said Tuesday during a panel discussion at the "Future of the Banking System: Innovation and Development Prospects" forum, taking place in Yerevan on September 23-24.
According to him, the government had previously planned for economic growth of 5.1% in 2026, but recent developments inspire confidence that growth will be higher, and according to the draft budget, it is projected at 5.4%.
Regarding the opinion that Armenia's economic growth potential fluctuates between 4.5% and 5%, Hovhannisyan noted that this figure has now increased to 5-5.5%.
