Economic activity in Armenia grew by 7.1% in 8 months

According to preliminary data, Armenia's economic activity index (EVI) in January-August 2025 registered a 7.1% increase compared to January-August 2024, the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia reports.
YEREVAN, September 25. /ARKA/. According to preliminary data, Armenia's economic activity index (EVI) in January-August 2025 registered a 7.1% increase compared to January-August 2024, the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia reports.
Moreover, in August of this year, EVI increased by 7.5% compared to August of last year, and by 5.4% compared to July of this year.
Industrial production in the first 8 months amounted to 1,770,561.4 million drams, a decrease of 7.8% compared to January-July 2024. In August, EVI registered a 5.8% increase year-on-year, and a 10.7% increase month-on-month. The construction volume for the reporting period of the current year increased by 20.4% compared to the same period last year, amounting to 374,853.1 million drams. In August, year-on-year growth of 21.1% and month-on-month growth of 19.4% were recorded.
Domestic trade turnover for the first eight months of this year amounted to 4,140,619.6 million drams, which is 3.9% higher than the figure for the same period last year. In August, year-on-year growth was 1.7% and month-on-month growth was 1.2%.
According to statistics, the volume of the service sector (excluding trade) for the first eight months of 2025 reached 2,596,488.3 million drams, which is 10.2% higher than the figure for the same period in 2024. In August, annual growth was 6.7% and month-on-month growth was 3.8%.
Armenian Economic Figures and Forecasts
Armenia's economic growth projected in the 2025 state budget is 5.1%. According to the Central Bank's monetary policy report for the third quarter of this year, Armenia's GDP growth is expected to be 5.8-5.7% by the end of 2025, 5.7-6.2% in 2026, and 5-6.3% in 2027, depending on scenarios (A-B).
The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) forecasts Armenia's GDP growth at 5.5% in 2025. The World Bank expects Armenia's economy to grow by 4%, the IMF by 4.5%, the EBRD by 5%, and the ADB by 6%. Fitch Ratings forecasts Armenia's economic growth at 4.9% in 2025, while the UN expects the Armenian economy to grow by 5.2%.
