YEREVAN, December 1. /ARKA/. The first round of negotiations on a free trade agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), its member states, and the Republic of India took place in New Delhi.

During the negotiations, which took place from November 26 to 28, the parties made significant progress in discussing the regulatory component of the agreement, outlined the parameters of the future tariff agreement, and agreed on further steps, according to the Eurasian Economic Commission.

"During the round, the EAEU and Indian negotiating teams demonstrated a constructive approach and a commitment to achieving practical results. For our part, we confirm our readiness to work in a 'fast track' mode," noted Andrey Slepnev, Minister of Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission.

According to him, the parties are counting on a substantive discussion on the lists of key goods for which import tariffs will be cancelled or reduced, already in the next round of negotiations, scheduled for February 2026.-0-
