The birth rate in Armenia decreased by 7.2% from January to September 2024 compared to the same period in 2023, according to data from the National Statistical Committee of Armenia.

YEREVAN, November 6. /ARKA/. The birth rate in Armenia decreased by 7.2% from January to September 2024 compared to the same period in 2023, according to data from the National Statistical Committee of Armenia. The decline has been ongoing since January this year.

During the reporting period, 24,997 babies were born, compared to 26,928 newborns in the first nine months of 2023.

Additionally, 340 cases of stillbirth were registered during this period, representing a 5.4% increase compared to the same period in 2023.

Overall, 19,100 people died in the country between January and September 2024, an increase of 5.4% compared to the same period in 2023."

It is also noted that natural population growth amounted to 5,897 people, which is 33.1% less than in the same period last year. -0-
