Birth rate in Armenia decreased by 5% in nine months

The birth rate in Armenia decreased by 5% in January-September 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, according to data published by the Statistical Committee of Armenia (Armstat).
YEREVAN, November 6. /ARKA/. The birth rate in Armenia decreased by 5% in January-September 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, according to data published by the Statistical Committee of Armenia (Armstat). The birth rate has been declining in Armenia since January of last year.
It is noted that 23,698 babies were born during the reporting period, compared to 24,942 births in the first nine months of 2024.
Moreover, 286 stillbirths were recorded during this period, a 16.4% decrease compared to the same period in 2024.
Overall, 19,064 people died in the country from January-September of this year, a 0.6% increase compared to the same period last year.
It is also noted that the natural population growth amounted to 4,634 people, which is 22.5% less than in the same period last year.
