Armenian State Revenue Committee and IMF agree on expanding cooperation
YEREVAN, March 15. /ARKA/ Rustam Badasyan, the head of the Armenian State Revenue Committee (SRC), and an International Monetary Fund (IMF) delegation, headed by IMF Resident Representative Iva Petrova met on March 14 to look into the progress of tax and customs reforms in the country, SRC said today.
It said the sides also discussed tax revenue collection forecasts and the impact of the existing challenges on its fulfillment, dynamics of the tax/GDP ratio as well as the impact of tax and customs reforms on this indicator. The latest changes in Armenia’s tax legislation and the future steps in this direction were also discussed.
Badasyan spoke about the government’s plan to introduce the system of universal declaration of income and the creation of necessary tools of tax supervision.
The sides were said to have exchanged views on such issues as accessibility of bank secrecy information for the tax supervision, as well as securing the opportunity to carry out inspections and research of physical persons.
The sides also touched upon the introduction of the Single National Window of Foreign Trade in Armenia and the technical assistance programs provided by the IMF to SRC.
An agreement was reached on the expansion and development of cooperation between SRC and the IMF. -0-
