Armenian PM outlines main directions for EEU to work
YEREVAN, February 2. /ARKA/. Strengthening cooperation, creating new business ties, establishing cross-border trade in digital services and data exchange should be among the priority tasks of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU at this stage, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said on Friday.
"Timely and uninterrupted exchange of information will help solve a large part of the issues arising in the movement of goods and services within the EEU and will reduce most of the administrative barriers, as well as exemptions and restrictions," Pashinyan said at a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
Armenia assumed on January 1, 2024 the 12-month rotating presidency of the organization, which also includes Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia.
According to him, the main beneficiaries of legal mechanisms for regulating electronic commerce are businesses. However, Pashinyan noted that citizens of the member states should also feel the practical benefits of the freedom of movement of goods, services and labor in the EEU. --0--
