Armenian government discusses 2021 draft budget

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan chaired today a consultative meeting convened to discuss the macroeconomic and fiscal aspects of the draft state budget of the country for 2021, the government press office said.
YEREVAN, September 22. /ARKA/. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan chaired today a consultative meeting convened to discuss the macroeconomic and fiscal aspects of the draft state budget of the country for 2021, the government press office said.
It said the macroeconomic and the fiscal framework of the draft budget were presented by Minister of Finance Atom Janjughazyan, who said the draft budget was being developed based on economic developments of the country as well as on global and Armenia-related forecasts.
The meeting was said to have discussed the projected macroeconomic indicators, fiscal policy details, capital expenditure program, government priorities and anti-crisis measures. Several proposals have been received.
The prime minister stressed the importance of identifying sectoral areas of budgeting program and the active use of this component in developing the draft budget.
According to Armenia's Central Bank, the country's economy will drop this year by 6.2%, up from the earlier predicted decline within 4% and grow by 4-5% in 2021. The projected inflation rate for 2021 is 1.-2%. -0-
