Armenian construction sector rises by 20.2% over seven months, reaching 293.3 billion drams
YEREVAN, September 9. /ARKA/. Armenia's construction sector in January-July 2025 grew to 293,301.8 million drams (at current prices), reflecting a 20.2% increase compared to the same period in 2024, according to the National Statistical Committee.
In July alone, the sector posted 68,430.3 million drams growth, which represents a 26.1% increase compared to July of the past year.
The construction funded by the state budget for the first seven months amounted to 71,319.2 million drams, accounting for 24.3% of the total construction work (an increase of 30.9% compared to the same seven months in 2024).
The construction work financed by community funds totaled 11,736.6 million drams (4% share, with a growth of 23.3%), while humanitarian aid-funded work accounted for 854.4 million drams (0.3% share, with a decline of 50.5%).
Additionally, organizations funded 136,046.3 million drams worth construction (46.4% share, with an 18.1% growth), and the population contributed 73,345.3 million drams (25% share, with a growth of 16.4%).
Furthermore, the construction volume financed by international loans for January to July reached 14,091.0 million drams (7.2% share), marking a 0.7% increase compared to the same period last year.
The World Bank provided 1,011.7 million drams, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development - 1,541.0 million drams, the European Investment Bank offered 550.9 million drams, the Asian Development Bank -10,477.9 million drams, the German Development Bank contributed 1,077.9 million drams, and other entities provided 6,214.1 million drams.
The bulk of construction activities were concentrated in the real estate sector (152,206.3 million drams, representing 51.9% of the total), education sector ( 33,307.1 million drams, 11.4% share) and transport ( 32,905.1 million drams, 11.2% share). ($1 - 382.95 drams).-0-
