YEREVAN, February 6. /ARKA/. Armenia is studying the prospects for producing "green" hydrogen from the standpoint of economic efficiency, announced RA Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan.
At a press conference on Friday, he announced that a scientific and business working group has been formed to study the issue.
"Producing "green" hydrogen in the country is technically feasible and can be economically justified for use within Armenia. Currently, exporting "green" hydrogen is unprofitable. However, there are countries interested in importing it, particularly Germany," Papoyan noted.
The minister explained that "green" hydrogen is not yet competitive in foreign markets, but its production could be effective for use in the energy sector, as well as in industry, including fertilizer production.
According to Papoyan, the results of the work carried out will be summarized and presented to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in the near future, after which decisions are expected to be made in this area.
