Armenia needs to improve quality of export goods – Tunyan

YEREVAN, April 18. /ARKA/. Armenian companies need to improve the quality of goods for export to reach a new level and diversify the country’s economy, Babken Tunyan, Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly’s Committee on Economic Affairs, told the Public Television.

"Armenia needs to diversify its economy, and the variety of goods that are exported to other countries have quality problems. These goods are freely sold in the Eurasian markets, however, we know that at any moment, if there is a proper inspection, the problems can be revealed and their importation to other countries of the Eurasian Economic Union can be banned. This happens periodically," Tunyan said.

He said this is a lever that can always be used against Armenia, yet a worst thing is that Armenia itself has provided such a lever.

"Diversification allows raising products’ quality to a new level, so as not to depend on anyone in the Eurasian market," Tunyan emphasized. -0-
