YEREVAN, December 8. /ARKA/. Armenia had the highest unemployment rate among the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) member countries in 2022, the Eurasian Economic Commission says in its 2023 Yearbook.

The unemployment rate in Armenia in 2022 accordance with ILO criteria was 13.4%, in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan - 4.9% each, in Russia - 3.9%, and in Belarus - 3.6%.

The average monthly gross wage in Armenia in 2022 was an equivalent of $541, the highest wage was in Kazakhstan ($673) and the lowest in Kyrgyzstan ($316).

In November 2023, Armenian Prime Minister announced a record growth of registered jobs in the country to over 730,000.

According to Armenia's National Statistical Committee, the poverty rate in Armenia at the end of 2022 stood at 24.8% against 26.5% in the previous year.

According to the forecast of the Ministry of Finance, the unemployment rate in Armenia will drop to 12.3% in 2024. -0-
