YEREVAN, 30 May. /ARKA/. The Armenian government decided to ban whitefish roe exports for six months during a session on Thursday.
The government mentioned that the estimated biomass of whitefish in Armenia’s Lake Sevan grew from 2,668 to 4,700 tonnes between 2019 and 2022, which allowed the country to increase its whitefish harvest from 300 tonnes in 2020 to 600 tonnes in 2023. However, the growth of the whitefish population still remains insufficient, the government says.
