Armenia to introduce licensing for electricity storage activities — Minister
YEREVAN, April 2. /ARKA/. Licensing for electricity storage activities will be introduced in Armenia, announced RA Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure David Khudatyan.

"We are talking about issuing a new type of license in the energy sector – for electricity storage," Khudatyan noted at a government meeting on Thursday.

According to him, such licenses will be issued by the Public Services Regulatory Commission of Armenia (PSRC), at the request of the authorized government body, and licensed organizations will be able to accumulate electricity in the territory specified in the license.

The minister announced that these entities will also be given the opportunity to buy and sell electricity on the wholesale market in accordance with market rules.

“Plants with a capacity of up to 1 MW, as well as stations with a capacity of more than 1 MW used exclusively for in-house needs, will not be subject to licensing,” Khudatyan added.
