Armenia's Military Prosecutor: Over 938 million drams in damages to the state were reimbursed in 2025

In 2025, thanks to the efforts of the Armenian Prosecutor's Office, 938 million 80,000 drams in damages to the state were reimbursed, reported Grigor Elizbaryan, Deputy Prosecutor General and Military Prosecutor of Armenia.
YEREVAN, March 9. /ARKA/. In 2025, thanks to the efforts of the Armenian Prosecutor's Office, 938 million 80,000 drams in damages to the state were reimbursed, reported Grigor Elizbaryan, Deputy Prosecutor General and Military Prosecutor of Armenia.
"Of this amount, 924 million 294 thousand drams were returned out of court by the Department for the Protection of State Interests of the Central Military Prosecutor's Office," Elizbaryan said, presenting the agency's work results for 2025 at an expanded meeting of the Prosecutor's Office Board, chaired by Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan, on March 7.
Elizbaryan noted that 280 studies conducted in 2025 by the Department for the Protection of State Interests and garrison military prosecutor's offices revealed damages to the state totaling over 1.43 billion drams (compared to nearly 5.68 billion drams in 2024).
Furthermore, over 92.2 million drams in damages identified in studies conducted in 2025 were compensated.
The military prosecutor also reported that damages to the state from criminal proceedings pending before investigative bodies exceeded 411.7 million drams in 2025 (compared to nearly 1.48 billion drams in 2024). Of this amount, 108.7 million drams were compensated during pre-trial proceedings (compared to over 51.9 million drams in 2024).
According to him, an additional 1.3 million drams in damages caused to the state were compensated as part of the enforcement of judicial decisions.
Elizbaryan also reported that in 2025, prosecutors of the Military Prosecutor's Office of Armenia sent 943 criminal cases with indictments against 1,070 individuals to courts of general jurisdiction (compared to 905 cases against 1,027 individuals in 2024).
During 2025, courts reviewed and completed 856 criminal cases against 951 individuals. Guilty verdicts were rendered in 708 cases, and 785 individuals were convicted.
According to the military prosecutor, in 2025, military prosecutors filed 24 lawsuits in the area of protecting state interests (compared to 19 lawsuits in 2024). The total amount of claims for these lawsuits is more than 4.56 billion drams ($1 - 377.29 drams).
