YEREVAN, March 18. /ARKA/. Armenia's two airports served approximately 5.7 million passengers in 2025, exceeding the 2024 figure by approximately 7.5%. Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure David Khudatyan announced this at a meeting of the National Assembly of Armenia's Standing Committee on Economic Affairs.
"For Yerevan's Zvartnots International Airport, the increase was 7%, and for Gyumri's Shirak Airport, 32.4%," Khudatyan said.
This is due to state subsidies to airlines for the launch of new flights from Gyumri. Specifically, Wizz Air launched a Gyumri-Larnaca flight in October 2025.
"In 2025, 48 airlines operated flights to and from Armenia to 67 destinations," Khudatyan recalled.
Yerevan's Zvartnots International Airport is operated by Armenia International Airports CJSC under a 30-year concession agreement signed with the Armenian government in 2001. The company also manages Gyumri's Shirak Airport.
Armenia International Airports CJSC is owned by American International Airports, an Argentine company owned by Eduardo Eurnekian, an Argentine citizen of Armenian descent.
