YEREVAN, April 9. /ARKA/. At a meeting on Thursday, the Armenian government approved an investment program for the construction of the Pan-Armenian Games Sports Village, costing approximately 20.9 billion drams (almost $55.6 million).

As noted in the decision's rationale, on August 21, 2025, the government approved the investment proposal of the World Pan-Armenian Games Committee NGO, as well as the granting of a 23.3-hectare plot of land within the administrative boundaries of the Jrvezh community in the Kotayk region. The plot is owned by Armenia and is managed by the Armzapovednik State Non-Profit Organization (SNCO) of the Ministry of Environment.

The organization was granted the right to develop the plot for a period of 50 years without a competitive tender, with the goal of creating a social, cultural, sports, and recreational zone.
Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan stated that this large-scale program should be implemented through donations from Armenian philanthropists. He stated that construction will last five years.

The Sports Village will be used not only to accommodate athletes during the Summer and Winter Pan-Armenian Games, but also outside of these periods—for youth training camps, student accommodations for Diaspora Armenians, the implementation of Armenia-Diaspora programs, and recreation and leisure activities.

The project envisions the construction of a modern sports complex with the capacity to accommodate up to 6,000 people. Approximately 1,240 new jobs will be created, approximately 20,000 trees will be planted, and environmental solutions will be used in the initial stages of eco-lodges, the cafeteria, and the medical center, as well as infrastructure improvements.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, in turn, noted the increased investment from the Diaspora in Armenia in recent years and called on philanthropists to participate in the project.
