YEREVAN, March 28. /ARKA/. Armenia expects to receive at least 3 million tourists annually in the next five years, stated Lusine Gevorgyan, Chairperson of the RA Tourism Committee.
"We expect that over the next five years, we will annually receive as many people as the country's population—at least 3 million people—and in 10 years, this number could reach 5 million," she said at a press conference on Friday, responding to a question from ARKA news agency.
Speaking about the steps being taken in this direction, Gevorgyan emphasized that Armenia annually participates in many major tourism exhibitions, at which the Tourism Committee organizes an "Armenia" pavilion. "Thanks to this, dozens of Armenian business representatives are representing our country and finding new partners," Gevorgyan said.
She also emphasized the importance of working with international media, noting that since last year, materials about Armenia have been published in reputable publications such as Forbes, the Los Angeles Times, Wanderlust, and others.
According to Gevorgyan, such publications are producing results, as being featured in well-known international publications attracts additional attention to Armenia as a tourist destination.
The head of the Committee also reported that numerous videos, reels, and approximately 1,200 photographs are being prepared to promote the country and are being shared with foreign partners and PR agencies to disseminate content about Armenia worldwide.
Earlier, the Tourism Committee reported that 300,694 tourists visited Armenia in January-February 2026, compared to 256,854 in the same period in 2025 (an increase of 17.1%).
Overall In 2025, more than 2 million 263.6 thousand tourist visits were recorded, compared to almost 2 million 208.2 thousand the previous year (an increase of 2.5%).
