Armenia aims to remove obstacles to develop trade turnover with Georgia
YEREVAN, May 7. /ARKA/. Trade and economic relations between Armenia and Georgia are developing successfully, but it is necessary to remove all obstacles that slow down smooth trade turnover, simplify customs procedures and stimulate a transparent investment environment, said Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan at a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia Levan Davitashvili.
"We consider it necessary to take joint steps to early identify and prevent problems that hinder trade turnover and cooperation between the two countries, so as not to waste time looking for solutions in the future," he said.
The interlocutors paid special attention to deepening cooperation in the fields of agriculture, renewable energy, environmental technologies and tourism.
According to Armstat, in the first quarter of 2025, trade turnover between Armenia and Georgia amounted to $61.9 million, increasing by 5.6% compared to January-March 2024. -0-
