ADB has financed $1.5 billion worth projects in Armenia

Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan met with Shixin Chen, Vice President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), on the sidelines of the Silk Road Forum in Tbilisi, Georgia.
YEREVAN, October 23. /ARКА/. Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan met with Shixin Chen, Vice President of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), on the sidelines of the Silk Road Forum in Tbilisi, Georgia.
Avinyan's press office said the deputy prime minister expressed satisfaction with the effective cooperation between Armenia and ADB, based on mutual trust, noting also that ADB is one of the important development partners of Armenia with a package of implemented programs worth more than $1.5 billion. He added that ADB assistance is most substantive in creating and modernizing economic infrastructures.
Chen attached importance to further development of cooperation with Armenia, based on the priorities reflected in its Armenia Partnership Strategy, due to be discussed by the ADB Board of Directors in November.
Considering that the meeting took place on the sidelines of the Silk Road forum, the interlocutors attached importance to further deepening of regional cooperation in the fields of transport and communications.
They also discussed cooperation between the state and the private sectors, the development of infrastructures and human capital, public administration reforms and the development of a high-tech ecosystem. ADB has been cooperating with the Armenian government since 2005. -0-
