Armenia’s foreign trade turnover grows 21.1% to $504.1 million
YEREVAN, November 21. /ARKA/. Armenia’s foreign trade turnover grew 21.1% in October 2011, compared with the same month a year before, to $504.1 million or AMD 189.6 billion, National Statistical Service of Armenia reports.
However, it contracted by 4%, compared with the previous month.
According to the statistical report, the country’s exports totaled $112.9 million or AMD 42.5 billion in October (21.3% year-on-year growth) and imports totaled $391.2 million or AMD 147.1 billion (21.1% year-on-year growth).
As a result, adverse balance of the foreign trade turnover amounted to $278.3 million or AMD 104.6 billion in October 2011.
Exports shrank 21% in October 2011, while imports grew 2.3%.
One U.S. dollar traded at 376.69 drams, on average, in October 2011. -0---
