SCPEC on November 21 to publicize the results of administrative case by the facts of sale of spread instead of butter

YEREVAN, November 18. /ARKA/. State Commission on Protection of Economic Competitiveness (SCPEC) on November 21 will publicize the results of administrative case related to economic entities selling spread instead of butter, press-service of the Commission informs.

Administrative case was instituted on October 13 against 10 butter importing companies, as in the result of monitoring it was detected that some importers, as well as large shops, particularly supermarkets were selling spread to Armenian consumers instead of butter.

According to the press-release, in SCPEC meeting the names of all law breakers – importers and sellers, as well as local producers will be publicized for the “increase of vigilance of Armenia consumers”.

Spread means “to spread” which is a fat product with a mass fraction of total fat from 39% to 95% inclusive. In difference with margarine, spread should have plastic and easily spreading consistence, and in difference with dairy butter, spread contains natural or hydrogenated vegetable oils in various proportions along with butterfat.-0--
