10.11.2011, 03:09
Armenia’s government budget remains socially-oriented, Gagik Minasyan, chairman of the National Assembly’s financial and budgetary committee, said Wednesday at a news conference.
YEREVAN, November 9. /ARKA/. Armenia’s government budget remains socially-oriented, Gagik Minasyan, chairman of the National Assembly’s financial and budgetary committee, said Wednesday at a news conference.

The 2012 draft government budget, he said, like the previous year’s budget, is socially-oriented.
“Social expenses constitute 29% of total spending here,” he said adding that some 48% of budgetary resources are projected as social spending (education, health, social security and culture).

Minasyan said that AMD 17 billion is projected to be used for raising pensions and social benefits in 2012.

“We will raise pensions and benefits by 10% or 2,500 drams the next year,” he said.

The family benefit will be increased from present AMD 26,803 to AMD 29,583 in 2012, the social pension from AMD 13,200 to AMD 16,500 and average service pension from AMD 28,700 to AMD 31,200.

Minasyan also said that there is a new social package for 2012, and AMD 18 billion is allocated for it.
This package implies equal bonuses for all the civil servants.

“Annual bonus of 100,000 or 120,000 drams is considerable for those who earn 50,000 to 60,000 drams a month,” he said adding that bonuses will be smaller for civil servants with higher salaries.

On September 29, Armenian government approved the 2012 draft budget. The budget revenue is projected at AMD 910 billion, spending AMD 1042.5 billion and deficit 132.5 billion here.

In this draft budget, revenue is planned to be enlarged by 6.8% in 2012, compared with 2011 (AMD 852.4 billion) and spending is projected to grow by about AMD 41.5 billion. ($1 – AMD 382.89). –0—
