5.7% Year-On-Year Inflation In Armenia In October 2011
YEREVAN, October 31. /ARKA/. Armenia faced 5.7% year-on-year inflation in October 2011, National Statistical Service of Armenia reported on Monday.
This inflation was mainly due to 8.5% increase in prices for foods, heavy drinks and tobacco and 3.9% increase in nonfood prices.
Prices for services rose 2% in October 2011, compared with the same month a year earlier.
Year-on-year consumer price index was 108.3% in Jan-Oct 2011.
Index of food, alcohol and tobacco prices was 112.3%, nonfoods 103.2% and services 103.8%.
According to the statistical report, monthly increase in consumer prices averaged 0.1% in Jan-Oct 2011 against 0.5% at the same period a year earlier.
In October 2011, compared with the previous month, consumer price index went 0.3% up.
Food, alcohol and tobacco prices rose 0.3% as well.
Prices for nonfoods rose 0.9% and those for services 0.1%.
In all the cities under review, consumer prices rose 0.1-0.9% with the highest indicator in Yeghegnadzor.
In Yerevan, they went 0.3% up.
In the 2011 government budget, inflation was projected at 4% (±1.5%).-0---
