17 hours instead of 24 hours: "Veolia Jur" names 4 reasons for changing water schedules in Armenia
YEREVAN, February 25. /ARKA/. "Veolia Jur" explained the reasons for introducing a 17-hour water supply regime in Armenia and announced plans to reduce water losses and increase investment in the system.

The company stated that the published water supply schedule is adjusted as necessary throughout the year, primarily during the summer months. "This is due to the increase in the number of new customers by tens of thousands, changes in weather conditions, the technical capabilities of the water supply system, a decline in water sources by approximately 24%, and an increase in the number of new customers due to development," the statement noted.

According to the document, the change in water supply schedule is also aimed at preventing water losses at night, thereby ensuring a regular water supply to customers during the day.

Furthermore, "Veolia Jur" announced the implementation of capital investment programs, the funding for which has been almost tripled. According to the company, this should help reduce physical water losses and allow for an increase in water volumes supplied to Yerevan customers in the coming years.

The company is also required to announce seasonal fluctuations in water supply schedules at least twice a year until the completion of investment programs, the statement said.

According to the schedule published on the Veolia Jur website, from May 1 to September 16, 2026, drinking water will be supplied to customers in 12 districts of Yerevan and all regions of Armenia from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM (17 hours a day). Their addresses are listed on the website.

For the rest of the year, water supply will be around the clock, the company stated.
