YEREVAN, May 10. /ARKA/. Armenian Minister of Economic Development and Investments Tigran Khachatryan and Susana Safaryan, the head of the Tourism Committee, visited the Yeremyan Projects Culinary Art and Hospitality Academy today.

The purpose of the Academy of Culinary Art and Hospitality is to assist in the establishment of the Institute of Hospitality, improvement of the quality of services and bringing Armenian cuisine to an international level. The leadership of the Academy intends to turn it into a regional center of excellence.

The minister and  David Yeremyan, CEO of Yeremyan Projects, discussed the company's investment programs in various areas.  Yeremyan Projects is implementing three major projects, one of which is the Academy, the second direction is agriculture, and the third is restaurants of a new format.

He said the company will invest this year about $10 million and create  250 new jobs. The minister was informed that a new pig-breeding farm was opened in Dilijan to grow  purebred pigs acquired from the well-known company Genesus Genetics.

 He said the farm meets all international criteria for production and quality. It was also noted that a large livestock farm is already operating in Jermuk, where purebred animals are bred. Large-scale investments are made to provide it with innovative technologies.

Susana Safaryan said Armenia has great potential and broad prospects in the field of gastrotourism. 

During the visit, the sides discussed the possibility of holding a large-scale event in the field of gastrotourism, which will bring together companies operating in this area to present the diversity of Armenian cuisine. It is also planned to attract international experts. -0-
